Red Rocks Data Center Celebrates 1 Year of Cooling With Outside Air

Morrison, Colo. – December, 2009 – Red Rocks Data Center celebrated one year of cooling two sections of their data center using cool, filtered, mountain air. The cost savings has resulted in almost $10,000 vs. using traditional compressor cooled air. No additional reports of lost drives, additional customer downtime or extra ‘dust’ has been reported which skeptics to the idea first pointed out. We’ve successfully proven (in Colorado) that this method should be seriously considered in any new data center in Colorado and other locations around the country where humidity is at an acceptable level.
